Brenda is an author and musician who has written several books on Asperger Syndrome under the name Brenda Boyd (published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers), as well as a children’s novel. Her books have been translated into several languages including Dutch, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Swedish.
She is currently working on a biography of her late husband, the acclaimed singer-songwriter Bap Kennedy, who himself had Asperger Syndrome.

Alongside her writing, Brenda has released two albums as a singer-songwriter. She also performed on several of Bap’s albums, and as part of his touring band.
In addition to her writing and music, Brenda paints in pastel, primarily for personal and creative expression. Her artwork appears on the covers of her album Banish The Blue Days, Bap's album Howl On and on Appreciating Asperger Syndrome (below).
