Brenda is an author and musician who has written several books on *Asperger Syndrome under the name Brenda Boyd (published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers), as well as a children’s novel. Her books have been translated into several languages including Dutch, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Swedish.
She is currently working on a book about the life and music of her late husband, the acclaimed singer-songwriter Bap Kennedy, who had Asperger Syndrome himself.

Alongside her writing, Brenda has released two albums of her own songs. She also played in performed Bap’s touring band, and performed on several of his albums during the last decade of his life.
In addition to her writing and music, Brenda paints in pastel, primarily for personal and creative expression. Her artwork appears on the covers of her album Banish The Blue Days, on Bap's album Howl On, and on her book Appreciating Asperger Syndrome.
